
Prof. Paramjit S. Jaswal, Former Vice-Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala (PUNJAB).
Prof. Jaswal is the Vice-Chancellor of the SRM University, Delhi-NCR, Sonepat. Prof. Dr Paramjit is a PhD holder specialising in Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Human Rights and Environmental Law. He possesses a phenomenal thirty-eight years of experience in the teaching field.
He has been bestowed with many honorary awards, including the most prestigious Nehru-Centenary British Fellowship Award for his post-doctoral research in the Department of Law from the University of London, London. He was selected for the prestigious Nehru Centenary British Fellowship Award.
Prof. Dr Paramjit Jaswal also served as Chairman of various Academic and Administrative Bodies such as expert committees, Advisory boards, Governing councils, and Boards of studies of different International and National Universities.
Prof. Jaswal completed his PhD in 1989 from Panjab University and started teaching in 1982. He did his post-doctoral research at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, UK.
Throughout his prosperous career he has written several books. He has written a book on environmental law published by the Allahabad Law Agency which the Supreme Court has made reference to on three separate occasions. He also wrote a chapter in the book ‘Preventive Detention and Security Law: A Comparative Survey, ‘Human Rights and the Law, Protection and Promotion of Human Rights in India,’ among other publications.
