Chanakya National Law University promotes a dynamic sports culture that values physical fitness, teamwork, and holistic development alongside academic excellence. The university campus is equipped with a variety of sports facilities that encourage students to participate in both competitive and recreational activities throughout the year.

All such activities are overseen by the Sports Committee of the university, which plays a pivotal role in promoting sports culture on campus. The committee is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing sporting events, maintaining sports infrastructure, and encouraging student participation across all levels. Through its continued efforts, the committee ensures that every student gets the opportunity to explore and enhance their athletic potential.

On-field sports at CNLU include football, basketball, cricket, futsal, volleyball, throwball, kabaddi, badminton, and athletics, while indoor sports such as chess, carrom, and table tennis offer students a chance to engage in more strategic and focused competition. The sporting environment at CNLU is inclusive and provides an equitable platform for all students to showcase their talent and build a strong sense of community.

A key highlight of the university’s sports calendar is URZAA, the inter-batch sports fest. This event brings together students from all years to compete in a wide range of sports and games, building batch identity while encouraging healthy competition. URZAA serves as a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship, discipline, and team effort, reflecting the core values that CNLU aims to instil in its students.

CNLU also organises its own intra-university sports leagues such as Chanakya Soccer League (CSL), Chanakya Basketball League (CBL) and Chanakya Premiere League (CPL) which have unique formats, with teams comprising players from all the batches. These leagues are a major attraction among students and are conducted through a structured process that ensures wide participation and enthusiastic involvement.

CNLU students have consistently represented the university in inter-college tournaments, bringing pride to the institution through their participation in events hosted by universities such as BITS Patna, WBNUJS, NLU Jodhpur, NIT Patna, and others. These events not only highlight the competitive spirit of our students but also foster camaraderie and collaboration across campuses.

The university continues to support and strengthen its sports culture, ensuring that students have the opportunity to grow both as athletes and as individuals, embracing the values of leadership, perseverance, and resilience through sports.
