Hon’ble Dr. Justice Arijit Pasayat enrolled as an advocate on 10th October 1968. He practised in the Taxation, Commercial and Constitutional matters. He Completed Articleship in Chartered Accountancy and passed Intermediate Chartered Accountancy Examination.

He was appointed as an Additional Judge in the Orissa High Court on 20th March 1989. He was appointed as Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court on September 20, 1999. He was appointed as the Chief Justice of Delhi High Court on 10th May 2000. Hon’ble Dr. Justice Arijit Pasayat was Appointed as Judge, Supreme Court of India on 19th October 2001. He retired on 10th May 2009. His Chairmanship of Appellate Competition Tribunal.
